Natural, Organic, Botanical. That's a famous Ahuva saying. A slogan if you like. But what exactly do these terms mean?

You know, that is a really great question. One that we actually ask ourselves on a regular basis. Yes, I (Blog writer) unfortunately don't have one of those sponge brains and therefore I regularly have to update my memory. But , we thank God for Uncle Google and Aunty You-tube. So Here is an overview of our research, to simplify it for you and avoid you going through endless videos and websites, like we did, just to get a solid answer.

  • Botanic- This speaks of the actual plant, substance or "species" that comes from the earth.

  • Natural- This is the term used to to describe something that is derived from nature- again earth.

  • Unrefined- This is another term for "unprocessed". This means the Botanic is left in its most natural state possible.

  • Refined- This is used to describe a product that has been purified or processed, usually chemically, to make the oils more "stable" but some argue it takes away the true goodness of the Botanic.

  • Organic - This is our favourite one. One we try to live by...This means the product is unprocessed, and has been grown without any artificial chemicals or pesticides. Just how natural botanicals should be grown....
